Céad Míle Fáilte

As many have no doubt noticed we rebranded the faction and the website from Umbradawn and Eclipse Templars to Emerald Ring.

Now we have moved from Templars to being more of an underworld syndicate, as we've always been willing to cross the line into the criminal aspects of the galaxy, whether that be theft, kidnapping, assassination or simply opening and operating cities and businesses regardless of whose territory we're in. We are still mercenaries, business men, and we intend to continue to operate in a way that we honor our word and commitments.

This change was something we discussed internally off and on the last year or two as we recognized we did not fit what one would expect from a Templar. Although the concept was designed around being morally grey, in execution we are simply not knights. Throughout the years of operation, we consistently ran into misconceptions and misunderstandings in regards to our motives, actions, or how we structured ourselves. Another important reason is that when Eclipse Templars was founded, it was essentially a personal project. Since then it has grown and become a group endeavor, utilizing an Order of Templars as our primary structure left limited room for shared leadership and caused confusion in regards to our chain of command. Given our structure is much more relaxed and much less militaristic, it gave new members the wrong impression on what to expect when working for us.

These reasons, and others, have lead us to change our identity to be more in line with how we see ourselves, as we have always maintained we do not care how others perceive us. With all that in mind, this rebrand is more of a cosmetic change than anything else. We still intend to maintain a grey morality where we do not aimlessly attack anyone we can but rather we operate in a way that furthers our goals regardless of what it takes. I still intend to operate as a legitimate businessman and mercenary, keeping my word and willing to take on any job that pays well enough.

Eclipse Templars wanted to make the galaxy a better place while advancing it's own interests and getting paid. The corrupt were our targets, but the corruption in this galaxy is so bad it was simply ignored when exposed.

Thanks to these lessons, the Emerald Ring only cares about protecting what's ours and expanding, peacefully or not. If you want to be a part and join us as an outsider or member, welcome. To those who aimlessly meddle in our business and stand in our way, good luck. To the rest, thank you for reading.

P.S., keep an eye for news about us opening taverns. We're looking for taverns to buy, we keep our taverns open to all so if you have a personal tavern that you want to use for access to the bounty hunting guild, contact us. We'll operate them publicly anywhere in the galaxy, regardless of governments and laws.

Recruitment and Site Registration Update
Posted by: Dain Thurith - 12-31-2020, 02:50 PM - Forum: Bulletin - No Replies

Hello everyone,

It's been awhile since we posted any update on the state of the website or the future of it so I wanted to take some time to put an update here. We've completed our transition to Emerald Ring, although some things may have been missed. We aim to add a ton more content to the site and there is a ton of exciting things in the works such as our line of taverns that we are aiming to open on as many planets as possible, the recent opening of Cassiopeia, and a lot more.

As we aim to make Year 22 a year of expansion while the past two years were more focused on inward development and stability. As such we've been working hard on the website, faction and Discord to ensure that it is a good environment to introduce new people to.

You'll notice the menu on the left is mostly updated, the newest page added being the Recruitment page which is filled with information on joining us, what to expect if you do that, and what types of people we are looking for.

In addition to this, as we aim to sell more and more to the public and have some events such as hunting, giveaways, etc, planned for the future, we've enabled the ability to register accounts again after disabling them due to a constant stream of bot accounts but we've since rectified this issue. If you have any issues with registering your account or activating it please contact me via DM on SWCombine or via PM on Discord

Thank you for your patience during this time,

Confederate Head of State Corruption Exposed
Posted by: Dain Thurith - 11-18-2020, 04:52 AM - Forum: Bulletin - No Replies

The Confederacy of Independent Systems: a corrupted organization lead by a tyrant who doesn't care about the poor and ruined lives left in the wake of their merciless expansion. Starting on Y21D335, the CIS became the target of an asset acquisition mission by Umbradawn as part of the larger goal of redistributing the wealth of the corrupt and supporting the needy.

At various times over the course of Y21D335 and Y21D336, a team of Eclipse Templar Inquisitors were able to enter factory districts and storage areas on the planet Thesme. During that time they were able to secure and load cargo valued at approximately 500 million credits medical supplies and powered down droids onto Eclipse Templar freighters. After, they left to assist in the primary heist in Mondress which would take place days later.

On Y21D339 at 11:45, the Modular Taskforce Cruiser An Ghrian Ríoga, under the command of Grand Master Dain Thurith and Exarch Varian Shroud, arrived in Mondress. They raided CIS' secure storage Brayls filled with approximately 6 billion credits worth of weapons, armor, tools, and medical supplies. The operation came together in very little time, in thanks to meticulous and on-the-fly planning from Dain Thurith and de Caito, which lead to excellent reconnaissance and intelligence gathering from the Inquisitors inside the CIS, one of which an officer. Using the access granted to them freely, the Inquisitors were able to board and empty six different Brayls into the MTC An Ghrian Ríoga, which had it's transponders changed to read as a CIS vessel. The rest of the team stood watch, prepared to cut the docking tube and enter hyperspace immediately if needed. Shortly after the over 9000 crates of varying sizes, one reportedly containing over 14000 CM Fragstorm Shotguns, were loaded, the strike team departed and went their separate ways. Exarch Shroud was charged with securing the cargo and remaining in command of the An Ghrian Ríoga during it's return trip to neutral space while the others moved into position for phase two.

Around 22:30, Grand Inquisitor de Caito signaled for the Inquisitors to disable the ships containing the primary targets:Supreme Commander Sion Plagueis; Alanna Kutol wife of Chairman Siejo Kutol; and all other Confederate Ships in orbit of both planets. A few minutes later, Plagueis and his security detail of three lower ranked members were apprehended along with fifteen unarmed builders.
Shortly later at 22:45, the disabled ships above Zrak were secured within an unnamed Umbradawn Colossal-class carrier. Alanna Kutol and her security detail were apprehended by the strike force made up of Ord and Ghealach operatives. This part of the operation went mostly without a hitch as all targets were asleep in their quarters aboard the BFF-1 Bulk Freighters orbiting the planet.

The hostages were only taken to ensure a smooth closure to the operation and fair treatment was provided. When negotiations with Head of State Taldar Logas were opened, before any of the details were laid out, Taldar refused to negotiate and wasted valuable time trying to goad the Umbradawn leaders into presumably executing his people. Though the members of Umbradawn were aware of the CIS' treatment of their people as essentially expendable slaves, the magnitude of this disregard for their lives still came as a shock. Some of the hostages even expressed a desire to work alongside Umbradawn to get revenge on CIS as they knew of this disregard.

After over a week of negotiations breaking down due to Head of State Logas interfering anytime progress was made and telling the hostage holders that he did not value the hostages being returned safely as, "there will always be more workers". Despite these interruptions, excessive disorganization, refusal to allow negotiators to work with constant interruptions, and consistently changing lead negotiator anytime progress was made, only two hostages were harmed during this process and only as a last resort to ensure that Head of State Logas knew Umbradawn was serious after over a week of being instigated. Thankfully not all within the CIS shared Taldar's desire to see the hostages killed to send a message and an agreement was reached.

Part of the agreement was ownership officially being signed over of the goods taken from Mondress, with these new armaments Umbradawn plans to arm new battallions of templars crossed all three of the orders to aid in the fight to expose corruption all throughout the galaxy, protect the weak, and punish the wicked. In addition to this, Umbradawn will be bundling a portion of the seized assets and donating them to young sentients to keep them safe in their adventures. The remainder will be sold to fund these efforts in addition to helping build better homes for the refugees under the care of Umbradawn.

Director Wainright passes away shortly after stepping down
Posted by: Dain Thurith - 05-13-2019, 11:10 AM - Forum: Bulletin - No Replies

Shortly after stepping down from her position as Director of Medawn, Director Wainright's ship suffered a hyperdrive failure which caused her personal J-Type 327 Starship to come out of hyperdrive directly next to the Prindaar sun. With only the life support operational, the ship sustained such damage that it required our very own Maiden of Umbradawn's Nileri Ateisa Rosiir to personally check the scene of the crash.

On Year 20 Day 165 Nileri arrived at the scene and boarded the 'Crimson Caress' where she found the body of Director Wainright who had passed away due to the injuries she had sustained. Confirming all fears but allowing some closure, Keva's body was then brought home to Umbradawn city for her funeral ceremony.

While Alessandro, Nileri and Dain were unavailable for comment due to the sudden news, the trio of the Order of Eclipse ensured that Director Wainwright would never be forgotten as they honored her posthumously with a Medal of the Dawn, a reward saved for those who go above and beyond in their goal to bring light to the galaxy.

Keva Wainwright; Director of Medawn Steps Down

In a late night emergency meeting with Umbradawn Corporation founder Dain Thurith, Director Keva Wainwright known for leading Medawn since it's creation Keva informed Dain and the rest of the Umbradawn's leadership council that she needed to step down indefinitely due to an unforeseen illness coming up in her family. Being a gifted healer and doctor in her own right, it made sense to all seats within the council for her to step down and be able to focus on her own private matters.

Not many would know this about Medawn, but the faction exists entirely because of one person who fearlessly lead this band of peacekeepers, volunteers, and healers from before the faction sprung to life on Year 20 Day 91. From the faction's conception Director Wainwright worked hard to create a group she felt would and could bring good to the galaxy in a way that no one had accomplished before. With goals such as offering surgeries and medical supplies for the innocents who've been hurt in the countless battles raging throughout the galaxy to the logo itself, the Cross of Dawns, everything was planned and sculpted by her vision.

Stepping up as interim Director is Commander Mythreel Thurith, who will hold both positions until the Order of Eclipse council members are able to finish discussions on who will fill such large shoes left behind by a visionary, kind hearted and brilliant doctor and director such as Keva.

As the narrator finishes, the screen fades to Dain Thurith standing in front of a podium ready to address the situation.
"It greatly saddens me to see Keva standing down - as the wife to my cousin and closest ally Alessandro she's been an invaluable help, adviser, and truly the galaxy has grown a bit darker on this day with her stepping out of the light of Medawn. We all hope her the best in her future endeavors and hope to see her again someday soon whether as friend or colleague she is welcome back with us of course, but even if only on the other side of the great Eclipse, that is how it must be sometimes... We will all be working hard to fill the void left by Keva as fast as we can so that those relying on Medawn to save them or heal them of their injuries do not feel that the sun of Medawn no longer shines on them.

Thank you for your time and I am available for any questions on the topic as always.

Dubhadh go bràch!"
